The City of Kalamazoo has replaced 196 lead water service lines in the City of Parchment. They estimate there are 50 more left to inspect for possible replacement. Crews are currently working on Maple and Park Streets.
Riverview Drive will have cement patches placed over gravel spots left from lead service line replacements soon, and all lanes will reopen. After April 15 when paving companies open, the patches will be hot patched. Cement patches will also be placed over gravel spots on side streets.
The City of Kalamazoo is drawing up a plan to replace the water main on Glendale Boulevard. The main will be placed on the south side of the street. The project will be open for bidding in July 2020 with work possibly beginning in November. When the new main is in place, the road will be milled and repaved by the City of Kalamazoo.
