The Police Chief is the City's top law enforcement officer managing a team of full- and part-time officers whose mission it is to protect the citizens, businesses and guests of the City of Parchment. The Parchment Police Department provides 24-hour, seven-day-a-week patrol services focused on specific areas of crime prevention and enforcement to ensure a safe community. These include:
- Traffic Enforcement: speeding enforcement and OWI patrols
- Protecting Parchment Businesses: door checks
- Code Enforcement: Identifying and causing remediation of blight in the neighborhoods
- School Liaison

In its efforts to reduce fuel costs and emission impacts on our environment, the Parchment Police Department purchased a hybrid electric vehicle in 2008 for general patrol duty.
Fuel costs have decreased more than 50% and carbon emissions reduced by 70%. This effort was recently highlighted by the Michigan Municipal League (MML) in its January/February issue of The Review.
